I failed upwards into the Microsoft Researcher Recognition Program

July 20, 2026

Hello, security blog. Second post today. Yay!

This year I got started with MSRC (Microsoft Security Response Center), which is Microsoft's reporting avenue for vulnerabilities basically. I didn't know what to expect, to be quite honest with you, but it wasn't so bad.

I learned quite a bit about Azure, Open Source Software and their production infrastructure, to be honest. There are so many little moving pieces that go into powering such a large inventory of technologies!

In any case, I somehow stumbled my way into the Recognition Program and should be receiving a t-shirt or hoodie or something (eventually?). I'm not exactly sure though.

Here's the page where they recognize researchers: https://msrc.microsoft.com/special-mention

Here's me on the little leaderboard page:

This is pretty cool. I think I may post whatever merch I receive in the future (may take a while though).

In any case, that's all I had to say tbh.

Let me humblebrag again. I'm on the leaderboard. :D

Ok I'm done
